KAA Volunteer Policy

The Kewaskum Athletic Association is a non-profit organization which depends upon volunteers to function successfully. Thanks to those who give generously of their time for the KAA in the past, but getting volunteers for all duties have become increasingly difficult. As a result, we will be making some changes to our volunteer policy and instilling a volunteer retainer fee policy.

Together with registration fees, families with players of all levels (except t-ball)
are required to pay a $100 volunteer retainer per family. Families have three options
regarding their retainer fee:

● Volunteer Option: Parents will be required to volunteer at least 4 hours per
family for one of the various volunteer jobs that are available. Anyone over the
age of 18 years of age may complete the volunteer hours. If you complete your 4
hours of volunteering you will receive your retainer fee back (info on getting your
retainer refund is in the refund section of this letter) . Examples of jobs include
but are not limited to: concession stand duties, equipment hand out and return,
field prep, uniform handout, team reporter, selling 10 extra raffle tickets in
addition to the ones you were assigned, etc.

● Coaching/Assistant Coaching or Board Member option:(Coaching at least
one team will cover an entire family’s volunteer hours) Volunteer to be a coach or
assistant coach. No coaching experience is required. If we have more people
volunteer to coach than what is needed, preference will be given to people who
have coached for the KAA in the past, then the date of commitment/registration
will be considered.

● Buy-out Option: you may choose not to volunteer and surrender retainer fee to
KAA.

Volunteer Option:
All shifts are available for sign up through SignUp.com or by contacting the volunteer
coordinator. All shifts are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a volunteer
has signed up for a job, a confirmation will be sent out via the email provided.
A sign in sheet will be available at the time of volunteering. You will need to sign this
sheet after completing the volunteering to receive credit.

All volunteers must contact the volunteer coordinator via email or phone 24 hours
before their shift if they need to cancel. Failure to notify the volunteer coordinator will
result in a forfeit of your retainer fee.

Refunds
There will be 3 pick up dates/times after August 15th at the park where you can pick up
your retainer refunded if you completed your set volunteer hours.
Buy-out Option
Those families that prefer not to make a volunteer service commitment may choose to
buy-out by surrendering their volunteer retainer fee.

**No children under the age of 16 are allowed to accompany volunteers during a
shift. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.**
